Mandrill Portrait

This is a wildlife piece of a Mandrill which is a colourful baboon. Normally the Mandrill is known for its aggressive nature and has huge fearsome fangs. Here I decided to take a different look at the baboons personality. I painted this from photos I took in the zoo of a shy Mandrill and tried to emphasize the colours here.

This was produced with an acrylic painted background with oils over layed on top.
